Think Sport 2023 : Marie-George Buffet ambassador for the event at the Maison du Handball on 03/10/23

Marie-George Buffet Co-présidente @ Comité national pour renforcer l’éthique et la vie démocratique dans le sport • Présidente du comité exécutif @ Fondation Hand’Solidaire
 , former Minister for Sport for France (in Lionel Jospin's government from 04/06/1997 to 06/05/2002) and co-chair of the National Committee for Strengthening Ethics and Democratic Life in Sport, will be the ambassador for the seventh Think Sport event, organised by News Tank since 2017, at the Maison du Handball (Créteil, Val-de-Marne) on Tuesday 03/10/2023.

After a 2022 edition at the FFF Fédération Française de Football (French Football Federation) headquarters (Paris 15th arrondissement) devoted to the World Cup in Qatar and the latest developments in French football, News Tank is delighted to once again be bringing together a large number of players from the ecosystem for a day of reflection and meetings, during which the floor will be given to female sports leaders, decision-makers and entrepreneurs. The event will be held in French.

Governance, changes in the way sport is disseminated, the development of women's participation through inclusion, the growth of women's professional competitions and the renewal of the economic model for leagues and federations are just some of the issues that will be addressed by the speakers.

"Women have had to fight these battles throughout the 'advances of civilisation', from which, in theory, they were not included. They are still fighting them today. Having access to knowledge, being able to vote and stand for election, having the time to be involved by sharing domestic work - all of these were and are the subject of mobilisation, often enshrined in the law of the Republic. Body and power, access to sport but also access to the highest levels of responsibility within the sporting movement, one cannot exist without the other. Women's empowerment can help to change mindsets. Let's make this day of exchanges a lever for true and beautiful equality between women and men in the world of sport," said Marie-George Buffet.
